School Trips 2017-18
14 & 15 November 2017
Autumn Woodland at Oxford Island
Both classes enjoyed their first bus trip away from school. We were warmly welcomed to Oxford Island by our guides and after a quick snack we made our way out to the woods. There we completed a woodland animal trail and a minibeast hunt before heading back to the Discovery Centre for lunch. Lots of trees had been blown over in the recent storm and there were lots of big branches lying on the forest floor - great for seeking out minibeasts and we didn't even let the rainy weather dampen our fun.

Christmas Tree Shopping
Today we went to visit Joe McAleenan in his shop to choose our Christmas Tree. Joe helped us decide upon a really beautiful tree which he delivered to school in his van. We decorated it with tinsel , lights and baubles and also added Harry and Alfie's gorgeous decorations knitted by their granny!
15 December 2017
Santa at Dromantine
Please see the website for a gallery of photos from our magical day out at Dromantine where we played with the elves; had our names added to the good list; made snacks and decorations; posted our Santa letters and visited the man himself.
22 February 2018
ABC Council - "Litter Puppet Show"
Today both classes heard about the consequences of leaving our litter on the ground rather than putting it in a bin. through our ECO jobs in school we have been teaching the girls and boys that it is our responsibility to dispose of our rubbish and waste appropriately using general rubbish; recycling or compost bins.
PEOPLE WHO HELP US
Throughout February we were learning about the roles of different members of our school and local community. We were very lucky to have a number of visitors to school to tell us about the jobs they do to help us. A huge thank you to Callum's "firefighting" dad; Archie's mum, Dr Dunbar and to Charlie's Aunty Jennifer who came to our salon and who came to school to style our hair!

CINEMA VISIT
On Friday 23 March, we joined our friends from Downshire Nursery School at IV Cinema in Banbridge to watch "Peter Rabbit". The girls, boys and grown-ups loved the film. For many of our children, visiting the cinema was a brand new experience. We were very proud of the girls and boys who attended very well to the film. There was lots of laughter and everyone had a great time!
